I don’t know about you, but I am ridiculously, madly in love with Andy Cohen of Bravo TV fame.
I don’t care that he doesn’t dig women or that I’m married to the love of my life and going to have a baby in a few weeks. He is hysterical and his “Here’s What” segment on Watch What Happens Live is quite possibly one of my favorite things on TV (next to Modern Family, of course!).
Andy is, as my college friends would say, an “N.J.B.” — a “nice, Jewish boy” for those unfamiliar with the term. (Even my “shiksa” friends in college grew to use the term!) And I just can’t get enough. Continue reading ““Here’s What …””
I think my inner resistance muscle has been completely shut off the past few months, replaced by the “I-want-it-now-monster.”
What’s funny is how OK with this I am!
Case in point: my mom, knowing I had had a terrible day last week, sent me a surprise care package with one of my absolute favorite treats in the world: mini black and white cookies from a bakery near her office on Long Island.
Black-and-whites, like bagels and pizza, scream HOME to me (new readers: I’m originally from northern NJ and am very much a NJ food snob!) So when I opened up the box at work Thursday and just swooned, staring into the depths of NJ/NY yumminess and wanting to GET.IN.MY.BELLY, STAT. Continue reading “Resistance Muscle? HA!“
For years, when my husband and I have gone for ice cream, I’ve gotten FF frozen yogurt and drooled over his strawberry ice cream in a waffle cone.
I’d always have a taste of his– but never dared order a waffle cone myself. Call me ridiculous, but I had this stigma about it being “fattening,” “bad,” etc. Remember, it wasn’t too long ago when I used to label food and judge it.
Over the past year, and now into my pregnancy, I’ve definitely strayed from those black-or-white thoughts, replaced by a blurrier — but happier — world of gray.
And so after we took Rocco for a drive around town Friday night (he LOVES to go bye-bye in the car!), I decided to spring for my much-coveted waffle cone at our favorite local ice cream place (think a local version of Cold Stone Creamery, only better — and cheaper :)). I’ve given into my cravings for the past week or so … usually in the form of chocolate.
Journaling everything, but not denying myself anything, really.
Which can be both positive and negative, depending on the situation.
The thing is, I’ve been an insatiable beast, and my period is over a week away!
My self-analysis says that I stopped the chewing/spitting, but am still buying some triggers … perhaps to test myself? The thing is, I don’t NEED any of it; I just WANT it.
So the next step is a logical one, don’t test yourself, don’t buy the triggers. Continue reading “Cravings … Sweet Cravings”
