These are some of the best-of-the-best (i.e., my faves!) from my maternity photo shoot. Isn’t my friend Staci amazingly talented?!
Also, thought I’d follow up with an update from today’s ultrasound.
It was, in a word, amazing. We saw her sucking on her fingers, scrunching up her hands and toes, she gave us the thumbs up, and she stuck her tongue out at us a few times! She’s still measuring on the “small side of normal” but she otherwise looks great. There’s a +/- 14 oz range (so the measurements could still be pretty far off in either direction), but she was measuring 5 lbs 7 oz which is WAY better than the 3 lbs 2 oz we saw a month ago! She looked SO cute, chubby cheeks and face and like a little cherub!
Still, with the cord around her neck and her smaller stature, the recommendation from the perinatologist (the high-risk doctor I’ve been seeing since the early testing in the beginning) was still a C-section, but not past my due date, sometime in the 39th week — so sometime Dec. 13-19. I see my OB tomorrow and I’m guessing we’ll discuss this stuff then.
Also, I’m up a total now of 23.6 lbs. This means I gained 2.6 lbs in 13 days — which is awesome (I should be gaining about a pound a week) I’m definitely on track now to gain at least (if not more than) 25 lbs and since Maya is growing, I feel awesome about it!
Beautiful pics!!
My c-section was in my 39th week as well. I think that’s just how they like to do it so you don’t go into labor.
Thanks, Candice. I had mine scheduled today–for Dec. 18. Last day of the 39th week!! So we’ll see–hoping she doesn’t come before that but even if she tries to, it’ll be a C. I’m bracing myself!
You are insanely goregeous! And you do look VERY pregnant 🙂
Thanks, Alison! I finally FEEL like I look “very pregnant” 🙂
Melissa – you look absolutely gorgeous. I love how the setting was a park – one that you will undoubtedly be visiting a lot in the very near future! I never did professional maternity shots – but you’re making me wish I did. Maybe next time???? 🙂 haha – not that i’m planning another pregnancy anytime soon.
Thank you! Oooh do I hear the baby itch in your voice, Avanti? 🙂 🙂 I love your blog, you crack me up. I miss you, girl! I think the pro maternity shots are a new thing. My mom was so surprised I was doing them at all. She’s totally smitten now 😉
oh these portrits are beautiful and timeless. you are both so photogenic, dang, maya is going to be a beauty!
god bless your progress lissa!
Thank you, Clare!!! 🙂
love, love, love these pics! I especially adore the one of you staring down at your belly with a huge smile on your face, so proud. I love it! These are amazing photos, what a great way to remember this years and years from now!
Thank you–I love that one, too!
You are beautiful if I may say so! Your hair with the purple sweater is such a gorgeous combo and the pics are so fall-y and warm. What a nice keepsake to have!
Thank you so much!! I am going to make an album for sure!
Incredible pictures! Staci needs to go professional – she’s crazy talented. And you look so glowingly healthy and happy! 🙂
She’s working on it–she’s incredible!! Thank you 🙂
Lissa-December 18th was my mom’s birthday-she passed away 3 years ago…what a special date and she was such a special woman-I hope that your baby possesses all the qualities that my mom displayed-beauty, elegance and grace-I had 2 C-Sections-my body is still rockin’ at 48, so have no worries there!!! Best of luck to you-Lisa
