If you know me in real life, you know I can’t sit still and struggle with the notion of “down-time.”
Hell, even if you don’t know me in real life, if you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time you probably could have deduced that all on your own without ever having met me!
The truth is, I always feel like I “should be” doing something else.
And so it’s a rare day when I find myself with absolutely nothing to do, no obligations to meet, no friends/hubby to play with (he had a soccer tourney and then conference calls for school) … today was just me, myself and I and a wide-open Outlook calendar.
I decided to take advantage of the fact that I felt like absolute CRAP (cramps … need I say more?! Sometimes I hate being a woman … ) and after working out and showering, I promptly put back on my PJs for the rest of the day.
(Let it be known that we went to the symphony last night and I was all decked out for that, so I welcomed lazy Sunday clothes today!)
Anyway, I cleaned, blogged, ordered our Seoul photo album off Snapfish and ate and noshed (read as: snacked on carbs and chocolate I didn’t need but was craving) in my jammies … and it felt WONDERFUL.
Sometimes we all need days like these … and since I never really allow myself to “relax,” I need to welcome opportunities like these when they present themselves.
I like to call it a “mental wellness” day. I feel rejuvenated now and ready to face the work-week, which will no doubt be a busy one.
Hope you all have a wonderful rest-of-Sunday and a great week, to boot!
