Blog reader Lara shared this great Washington Post piece with me today that will be in Sunday’s paper. The article, “Robin Givhan zeroes in on debate over plus-sized models” raises some great points and questions.
For example: “… After a volley of exhausting complaining, defending, finger-pointing and declaring one’s right to creative license, a new conundrum has presented itself: It’s hard to even know what an acceptable-size model is supposed to look like anymore. How big is big enough? And when does plus size, in a profoundly overweight population, become just as distressingly unhealthy an image as emaciation?”
Take a read and let me know what you think in the comments.
Thanks for the link to this article–I will definitely check it out! It seems like “plus-sized” women are getting smaller and smaller lately to me! When did a woman who looks to be about a size 10 become plus-sized?! Crazy.
Still haven’t read your birth order post yet. I have it bookmarked for when I can really dig into it 😉
Hope you’re having a great weekend.
