PB Loco Love

cccdanI love, love, love PB Loco’s gourmet peanut butters.

Unfortunately, there’s only one store in this area (a health food store, think “local Whole Foods”) that carries them, and they’re always of my favorite flavor (Dark Chocolate Duo).

So this week, after an unsuccessful shopping trip to said health food store, I went online and placed an order for Dark Chocolate Duo, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (never tried this kind!) and Raspberry White Chocolate.

(Note: I had to Google for Dark Chocolate Duo, since they didn’t show it on the product pages — not sure why! But I was able to order it).

Why PB Loco, you ask? It’s seriously the world’s best peanut butter.

In the past I’ve had both beautiful experiences with peanut butter (where I portion out a serving a day and make a jar last) and, during anxiety-infused moments, I’ve had ugly, embarassing moments where I’ve literally chewed and spit a whole jar … and hated myself afterwards.

Since I’ve had a great two weeks with no chewing and spitting, I decided to bite the bullet and order some gourmet PB Loco to have on hand — not the kind you want to waste in the trash!

I bought it not to eat in an “all or nothing” fashion, but rather to eat in a normal, moderate fashion. To test myself, yes. But also to derive pleasure from food, and have me control “it”, versus “it” control me.

I know I can do it. I feel good about it. And this stuff is way too expensive (at $6.95 a jar) to just toss.

The best part? At my request, the good people at PB Loco were kind enough to send me a sample jar of Sumatra Cinnamon Raisin, which I’ve always wanted to try but could never seem to find at the store in town that sells PB Loco.

I have to say, customer service matters to me, and they were nothing if not wonderful! That means a lot to me.

So thank you, PB Loco, for the opportunity to have a healthy relationship with one of my favorite foods. I’m Loco for PB Loco. 🙂

  1. I like that one too, Dori. But these PB Loco PBs are way richer and I love texture and the white choc rasp one has little chunks of white choc — almost beads?!

I know, Mara, I need to be careful. Actually, my package hasn’t arrived — this post was accidentally live a few days too soon — my bad! I’d intended to write a review of the Sumatra Cinnamon Raisin and Cookie Dough since I haven’t tried either yet!!! Will just add on once it arrives 😉

  2. Wow, that peanut butter looks great! I’m going to have to visit their website and check it out. Good luck with having it in the house and being able to eat it and enjoy it in moderation – I know you can do it!
