Oatmeal Bliss

This summer, I couldn’t stomach my favorite go-to breakfast, but now that fall is here, I’m all over it once again, and couldn’t be happier.

My favorite way to fix it:

Cran-Apple Oats
1/2 c. uncooked oats
1 c. skim milk
1 small apple, diced (I’m loving Honeycrisps now)
handful of fresh cranberries
cinnamon and a swirl of SF maple syrup.

MMMMM good. The sweet apple and tangy cranberry flavors marry in the most perfect way. It also (usually) fills me from 8 am-noon. And for you WW-devotees, it’s only 5 pts.

How about you? What’s your favorite oatmeal concoction?

  1. Cafe pumpkin maple oats

    1/2 cup old fashioned oatmeal
1/2 cup coffee (instead of water)
    3 tbsp canned pumpkin
    drizzle SF maple syrup

  2. Very similar to yours!

    1/2 uncooked oats
    1 sm apple, diced
    1/4 cup raisins
    swirl of SF syrup

I’ll have to buy the cranberries next time I go food shopping and change it up!

  3. My favorite is:
    1/3c oatmeal
    1 spoonful of cocoa
    1/2 banana
and topped with a tablespoon of peanut butter!
and a splash of soy milk
    Mmmmmmmmm…. 🙂

  4. My favorite comes in a bag, made by Quaker. Maple & Brown Sugar (the Weight Control variety). How lazy am I? 🙂

  5. Suzanne, I love “Elvis oatmeal” too. Never had it with cocoa though!! But I use chunky all-natural PB and my my it’s good. But that is a special breakfast — same as custard oatmeal — a special breakfast!

Staci, I used to eat that same kind too (or the banana bread WC one), but it left an aftertaste!!! Now I can’t eat it anymore — I’m all about the regular oats!

  6. I feel kinda boring compared to all of these great oatmeal recipes, but I like 1/3 cup oats, 1/2-3/4 cup water, 1 sliced banana (mashed up and mixed in), and a few really big shakes of cinnamon all mixed in. I have this once or twice almost every day and I never get bored of it. Love oatmeal:)
